Staff, service users and carers all got into the sporting spirit at Fulbourn Hospital’s first-ever Mini-Olympics in July. On an extremely hot day, more than 150 people took part in a series of indoor and outdoor Olympic events, such as indoor bowls, javelin, shotput, badminton, penalty shoot-out, volleyball and discus. Before the sports took place, staff and service users launched the day with a torch relay around the grounds of Fulbourn. Every Olympic event was extremely well supported – it was amazing how competitive everyone was. Special thanks go to physio Kate Brown and her team who organised the event, as well as the other volunteers who gave up their time to help run the events. And we also need to thank service users from Friends and Adrian House who made special Olympic-themed biscuits, and service users from Springbank who made the magnificent Olympic torch cake (right). Well done to everyone who took part.
