CPFT Fulbourn and Ida Darwin teams joined a new lunchtime walking scheme that started today, and will culminate in a mid-summer hare-and-hound type caper along the River Cam pathway between Waterbeach and Cambridge on Wednesday 26th June. The scheme was launched today by Chief Executive, Attila Vegh, and Chair, David Edwards.

Every lunchtime, for four months, different sets of walkers will assemble at the Crane Statue between Springbank and Willow ward. A starting claxon at 12 30pm will signal the start of the half-hour exercise in which the object is to make it as far/or as many times around, the Fulbourn Trim Trail circuit as possible.

Progress is measured by passing as many of the eight pieces of equipment in the Trim Trail (as many times for the fittest) as each runner can in the half hour. Participants are then invited to send in their scores to walkitoff.challenge@cpft.nhs.uk

Wednesdays are "Challenge Days" and will be anchored by the Board of Directors who have already booked out their schedules to participate weekly, alongside George Mackenzie and other staff from both the Ida Darwin and Fulbourn sites. The Big Challenge day is at the end of each month when individuals (and teams) aim to improve their previous month’s score.
