Tea and cakes mark World Mental Health Day

Tea and cakes were served to service-users and visitors to wards during World Mental Health Day.

With this year’s theme, chosen by the World Health Organization, being mental health and older people, events were held at the Maples at the Cavell Centre and at Willow and Denbigh at Fulbourn.

Aidan Thomas, Chief Executive of CPFT, said: “I believe it is really important to mark World Mental Health Day.

"With this year’s theme being about older people this is great chance to do something different for the people on our wards and to celebrate the work of carers and our members of staff.

“How we care for people with conditions such as dementia is a massive challenge, but I am very proud of the services we provide and how the people on our wards are treated with dignity and compassion.

“With an ageing population, the number of older people with mental health issues will continue to rise and we must continue to work with our partners to ensure the highest standards of care can continue to be found in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.”
